The British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) wanted to create one of the largest health science education simulation centers in North America with a goal of providing world-class heath science education for over 7,000 future healthcare providers every year. Stantec's multi-disciplinary team created a facility that would consolidate 32 programs under one roof and create a physical manifestation of inter-professional education.
The new facility is an energy efficient, low-carbon emission building that places student wellness at the forefront. The project has achieved WELL pre-certification and is targeting Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Gold Certification.
Get a behind-the-scenes look at this innovative, new space that is helping to equip the next generation of healthcare practitioners through thoughtful and sustainable design strategies.
