What was your first big break?
New York City gave me my first spec—I was told if I could make it there, I can make it anywhere. I followed up with a sold-out performance at NeoCon in Chicago. My producer encouraged me to express my edgier side while staying true to my conventional heritage. I rock a grit-meets-glam vibe, drawing from my love of 70s punk and the signature styles of Vivienne Westwood and Givenchy. But I keep it classy and sophisticated.
What’s the rumor mill churning out about you these days?
Rumor has it I’m dating Math Club’s TechUpd8 and Supercomputer. They’re both fun and edgy in their own way (they specialize in raising mathletes to rock-star status), but we’re just friends.
Where was the last place the paparazzi photographed you?
My cousin, Salt Creek, got followed at the Roxy on Sunset last night and I got chased into Chanel on Rodeo Drive. But at least I was wearing a hip outfit: a steel grey, boucle-style sweater (totally en vogue with a hearty texture that exudes lush hand feel) paired with classic yet chic black pants. It’s a timeless style, fit for any setting.
Aside from sugar, spice, and everything nice, what else are you made of?
I’m heavier than most my age, but I also feature innovative use of Antron Legacy Type 6,6 Nylon for ultimate color and performance flexibility. I’m backed with NexStep Cushion and AFIRMA Hardback tiles. I’m also uber flexible and approved for seven different tile installation methods. I’m also very environmentally conscious—certified by Cradle to Cradle, NSF 140, and CRI Green Label Plus, and produced in a LEED EBOM facility.
If you could get one plastic surgery procedure what would it be?
I am from L.A., so I’ll never tell, but my Accredited Quality Assurance Lab verifies all my beauty claims and good pedigree.
Who are some of your idols and influencers?
Bentley Mills’ heritage of focusing on textures through the lens of music and fashion is very inspirational. Vivienne Westwood influences my style with her impressive ability to reinterpret classic fabrics for a more shocking look. I also have a signature, classic style, and love wearing quality, luxurious material— yet I can reinvent myself with a twist.
What’s your biggest turn-on?
Although my friends TechUpd8 and Supercomputer are bold, sharp and colorful, I like someone who is more like me—soft and neutral with a complex, complementary blend of tones. I also love a Carpet Spa day, being pampered with a good vacuum and hot water extraction is essential.
Turn-off?
Someone who isn’t true to their roots or proud of their legacy. It’s important that my friends, like me, honor their past, but are still adventurous and unafraid to be reimagined for the future.
What’s the worst part about fame?
People walk all over me all the time, but I’m built for it, so I can take it.
