HOK Celebrates 60th Anniversary with 4,000 Hours of Pro Bono Work

Nov. 23, 2015

The effort is part of its 24 / SIXTY initiative

To commemorate its 60th anniversary in 2015, HOK has completed its 24 / SIXTY community service initiative in which 24 offices were challenged to donate at least 60 hours of design services. With some projects continuing into 2016, HOK’s people will have contributed over 4,000 hours—2,500 more than the initial goal!

Through partnerships with nonprofits and volunteer groups, HOK’s teams have improved youth, education, housing, and community spaces all over the world. The HOK 24 / SIXTY report summarizes these efforts and provides metrics illustrating the tangible benefits of 24 service projects across the world. It is available on Issuu or as a downloadable PDF.

Read about volunteer projects that have transformed an old firehouse into a new teen center for the Ferguson Youth Initiative in Ferguson, Mo., converted an historic steam mill outside of London into a youth center, provided a new culinary center for BoysGrow in Kansas City, Mo., renewed an elementary school playground in Chicago, imagined a new sponge house in Ottawa, created a new annex and teen center in Los Angeles, and much more.
