CHICAGO - The American Society of Interior Designers-Illinois Chapter (ASID-IL) and the International Interior Design Association-Illinois Chapter (IIDA-IL) jointly announced that the fifth annual Holiday Rendezvous held Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, raised more than $3,000 for the Illinois Interior Design Coalition (IIDC), a not-for-profit legislative political action committee whose membership activities are supported solely by individual and corporate contributions.
More than 200 members of the local interior design community attended the sold-out event and contributed to the event's fundraising efforts. The purpose of the Holiday Rendezvous is to bring together Illinois' two major interior design associations in the common interest of protecting a designer's right to practice by raising funds to support the legislative efforts of the IIDC.
Held at The Merchandise Mart, this year's theme was "Come Home for the Holidays" and featured a silent auction with more than 30 items, cash raffle, vintage holiday movies, and catering and book-signing by Hearty Boys, Chicago's own HGTV sensations. Deborah Carata of Buffalo Grove, IL, with Nu Trend Cabinet Company won the cash raffle. Sponsors for the evening were The Merchandise Mart and Market Square at The Merchandise Mart.
