citizenM Opens Third Miami Property in Vibrant South Beach Neighborhood

Sept. 4, 2024
Designed by Gensler, the award-winning hotel brand captures the essence of Miami’s energy and artistry, with the opening of citizenM Miami South Beach.

citizenM, the pioneer of affordable luxury hotels, has opened its third property in Miami – citizenM Miami South Beach. Located steps away from the buzzing retail and restaurants of Lincoln Road in Miami’s lively South Beach, the property features a rooftop infinity pool, locally sourced art, and 24/7 food and drinks.

citizenM Miami South Beach follows the successful openings of Miami Worldcenter (2023) and Miami Brickell (2022) and is a part of an ambitious expansion plan in the U.S. and beyond, which aims to introduce its innovative lifestyle brand to hubs with travelers on-the-go. Designed by citizenM’s long standing partner concrete Amsterdam and local architecture firm Gensler, guests have come to not only recognize citizenM’s distinct style, but seek out its “affordable luxury” experience.

A unique blend of modern design and local flavor, citizenM embodies the energy and flair of Miami. citizenM’s vibrant design, locally sourced art, savvy technology and affordable luxury have become key pillars of the guest experience, while paying homage to the city across every element. Within the property, guests will have access to stylish amenities, including a cozy living room perfect for bleisure travelers catching up on emails, the brand’s signature canteenM serving 24/7 snacks and drinks, a 24/7 gym, 2 societyM meeting rooms, rooftop infinity pool and hidden bar surrounded by lush greenery and a cozy outdoor second-floor terrace in addition to the captivating art on display throughout the hotel.

Robin Chadha, chief brand office at CitizenM, commented:

“Miami is a vibrant city full of artistry and we are thrilled to be back, opening the doors to our third hotel in the city. Following our warm welcome for citizenM Miami Brickell and Miami Worldcenter, we are excited to grow citizenM’s footprint in the city and become part of the iconic South Beach neighborhood. As a cultural hotspot, the busy streets of South Beach are bursting with the best fine-dining experiences, prime shopping, bustling nightlife and public art. With our curated selection of artwork, rooftop pool, and prime location, citizenM Miami South Beach will offer mobile citizens a great base to experience this incredible city.”

Sustainability Meets ‘Affordable Luxury’

Emphasizing citizenM’s commitment to sustainability, citizenM Miami South Beach has been constructed adhering to elevated environmental standards, encompassing energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste reduction, and is working towards securing LEED Gold certification. This initiative aligns with citizenM’s broader environmental ethos–100% of citizenM hotels hold green building certifications or are on the path to achieving them.

CitizenM’s philosophy of “affordable luxury” is best experienced in the guest rooms, which showcases their commitment to high-tech amenities, ultimate comfort, eye-catching art and more. The 168 rooms are smartly furnished with “everything modern travelers need, and nothing they don’t.” All guestroom features are designed to be the very best: the beds are XL king-size wall-to-wall with an extra comfy mattress and luxury bedding. A 4K widescreen TV offers streaming options via free super-fast Wi-Fi, so that guests can enjoy their own content. A powerful rain shower with full-size shower gel, shampoo and conditioner (as well as giant fluffy towels) will soothe all long- and short-haul travelers. The room ambiance is fully controlled by an in-room iPad–the blinds, climate, the TV, even the lights with changeable colors–or via the award-winning citizenM app.

To reflect the vibrant community of South Beach, citizenM has commissioned eight original pieces of in-room art from LA-based visual artist Austin Call, Barbadian contemporary artist Akhila Watts, Florence-based artist and educator Robert Minverini, and aLILscribble LLC CEO and artist Alannah Tiller. As a part of citizenM’s commitment to art and emerging artists, the commissions were facilitated through an open-call where citizenM curated an Art Basel Miami Beach 2023 experience for the artists providing access to an otherwise inaccessible moment in the international art community.

The new property, found at 1200 Lincoln Road, will join the growing citizenM US portfolio, which includes two existing Miami properties in Brickell and Worldcenter as well as Boston, New York, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington DC, Chicago, Menlo Park, Austin, and more worldwide.
