Shaw Contract Group’s new carpet tile and broadloom collection, openwork, was inspired by Kasuri, a Japanese word for fabric that has been woven with fibers dyed specifically to create patterns and images within the fabric. A mix of high luster and matte yarns are used to translate this idea and add a second dimension to the carpet, which gives a reflective quality. Texture is added through a naturally rugged and textural construction. Both the 24- by 24-inch tile and broadloom products are made with EcoWorx Cradle to Cradle Silver-certified backings and Eco Solution Q nylon.
