Who are you?
We are a collection of lights that turn illumination into works of art.
Where are you from?
We’re all made by hand in the small harbor town of Breda, in the Netherlands.
What one word best describes you?
Sensuous. We are a curvy group. We’ve been folded, fondled and fabricated to become sculptures of fanciful illumination.
What is your biggest turn-on?
A piece of scrap metal, twisted into a new shape.
Turn-off?
Anything that is merely functional without being beautiful. It is a wasted opportunity.
How do you define good design?
Good design is to be rooted in history, remarkable in the present and an icon for the future.
If you were stranded on a desert island and could only have three things, what would they be?
A knife to crack the coconuts, sunscreen to protect our patina and a monkey to play with Jacco.
What inspires you?
Organization amidst chaos.
How do you lessen your environmental impact?
We are made of stuff that no one else wants, like Russian tractor headlights.
What do you see when you look in the mirror?
A glow from within.
Describe the secret to your success.
Our power is in our paradox; we are hard materials that curve like ribbons. Our form can be turbulent but our light is serene.
