New Programs Announced for Design Lighting Tokyo 2014

Installations and exhibits set to enhance offerings at Asian lighting exhibition.

Design Lighting Tokyo 2014 has announced a series of new projects and installations that will take place at the show in January that will further enrich the exhibitions offerings. Catch a quick glimpse of each below:

The special installation “Bridge” is a selected collection of simple and stylish products by European lighting brands that have not yet been launched in Japan. Japanese architect Akihisa Hirata will select the products and supervise the installation. Showcasing the latest European designs in Tokyo, it will act as a bridge between Europe and Asia. "Next Lighting" is a special exhibit area for newly-launched manufacturers and designers to present their designs. More than 100 products are expected to be presented here. For more information, visit http://www.design-lighting.jp/en/Special-Event/Next-Lighting/ .

At the "Proto Lighting" exhibit, designers will showcase their prototype lighting designs. Untraditional materials and new technologies will be explored. For more information, visit http://www.design-lighting.jp/en/Special-Event/Proto-Lighting/ .

The "Design Seminar" invites high-profile designers and architects to speak, offering up the latest trends and cases from celebrated design projects. Kazuyo Sejima, a winner of the Pritzker Architecture Prize (also known as the Novel Prize of architecture) will speak in a special session entitled "Hikari: An Element of Arichitecture, Light and Lighting."  For the Program & Application, visit www.design-lighting.jp/en/seminar/ .
