BOLYU Contract has achieved the platinum certification for NSF/ANSI 140—Sustainability Assessment for Carpet, the highest level possible, for all Nexterra backed carpet tile products.
BOLYU was the first carpet manufacturer to attain this rating and maintains the highest level of sustainability in a carpet tile system with a minimum of 40 percent post-consumer recycled content. NSF/ANSI 140 establishes sustainability performance requirements for carpet products throughout their lifecycle and supply chain.
Designers, architects, facility managers, purchasing professionals, and contractors depend on the standard to specify and obtain reliable and more sustainable carpet products. In fact, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), which serves as the purchasing arm of the U.S. government, requires a minimum gold level certification to NSF/ANSI 140: Sustainability Assessment for Carpet for all broadloom (wall-to-wall) carpet and carpet tile.
NSF certified sustainable carpet products also may contribute innovation points toward a building’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification as well as Materials and Resources credits under the Green Globes green building rating program.
“We are very proud to receive the highest possible NSF/ANSI 140 rating of Platinum once again after six years of holding the designation,” said BOLYU Contract President Nicolas Bouckaert. “We continuously evaluate our manufacturing operations, supply chain and full lifecycle of each and every component of our business to find the best ways to reduce our impact on the environment.”
