Patcraft’s Mixed Materials allows for the intermixing of soft and hard surfaces by way of modular carpet and resilient flooring options offered in sophisticated yet bold designs. Conceptualized by creative director Pamela Rainey, ASID, IIDA, in collaboration with her design team, inspiration for the collection came via designers and manufacturers who seamlessly combine hard and soft materials like wood, metals, fabrics, and other different yet complementary materials. Rainey and the team recognized the designer and end user need for the transition of flooring in shared work and learning spaces. “By using resilient and carpet tile without limitations,” she said, “designers are liberated to create visual cues that better allow for the learning, creating, healing, selling, and collaborating that take place in open environments.”
