SGA Completes Jersey City Facility for Innovative Biotech Startup Fork & Good

SGA—multi-disciplinary architecture, design, and master planning firm with over 15 million square-feet of Life Sciences projects under its belt—has announced the completion of a new laboratory-office space for innovative biotech company Fork & Good. Helping startups realize their facility dreams at every stage, SGA designed a 13,000 square-foot pilot plant for them to test its groundbreaking discoveries in cultivated meat. The space is located at 95 Greene Street—a new development in Jersey City also designed by the firm—that’s becoming a premier destination for the New York area’s leading start-ups.

Given the intricacy and complexity of the company's work, SGA designed a variety of spaces to create a mixed-use facility that is 70% lab and 30% open office for Fork & Good’s team of biologists, physicists, engineers, food scientists, and business people. This includes a bioreactor room, tissue culture room, test room, cleaning room, isolator room, and strategically placed refrigerator and freezer units throughout the lab.

At 95 Greene Street, Fork & Good joins the other tenants of this 340,000 square-foot property that enables leading Life Sciences companies to expand and grow in the New York metropolitan area and beyond. “We are thrilled to welcome Fork & Good to their new home at 95 Greene Street, as they fit into the overall objective of this property serving as an advanced life sciences hub. Previously occupied by Merill Lynch, 95 Greene Street boasts eight-floors of flexible, lab-ready space equipped with infrastructure essential to Life Sciences such as an enlarged core, high-speed service elevator connecting labs to storage areas, and rooftop mechanical level. Completed in 2022, the space meets the increasing demand for laboratory and research development space, offering customizable expansion while providing facilities faster than anywhere else in the tri-state area.
