B2 Design Co Leverages Certifications, Relationships for Long-Term Growth

Feb. 18, 2025
Firm leader explains how strategic growth is possible as a result of building relationships and choosing business partners with similar values.

At B2 Design Co, we design engaging spaces with a fresh, creative vision at the center. For more than 17 years, we’ve collaborated with clients to help shape the stories they want to tell through built space. Our team has created vibrant interior environments that have established our firm’s reputation for novel, forward-thinking design for multifamily, senior living, student housing, and hospitality clients nationwide.

To better reflect our core offerings and growth trajectory, B2 Design Co has refreshed its name and brand identity. This evolution positions our firm to expand into new markets, take on additional project types, and grow our talented team across multiple offices nationwide.

At its heart, our brand essence lies in storytelling and design that elevates human experiences. Business development is a large part of our DNA, and every team member acts as an ambassador for our brand. Every activity, certification, project, and client relationship is a calculated move to build connections across diverse verticals and markets, with our team driving toward the same vision.

Certifications Demonstrate Shared Values

Founded in Dallas, Texas, in 2007 by B. Allison Brooks, AIA, B2 Design Co today has offices in Dallas, Chicago, Miami, and Chapel Hill and creates projects throughout the United States. The firm is also a certified Women Owned Business and is a member of the Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Program of Texas, Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), and Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB).

These certifications not only reflect our commitment to diversity but also position us within markets that prioritize supplier diversity. They open doors to collaborations with businesses that share our values, demonstrating transparency, fiscal responsibility, and excellence in business practices. Programs like WBENC and HUB provide significant opportunities to connect with clients and expand our impact.

All About Relationships

Business development and marketing happen naturally because our team of designers builds relationships before and during the creative process. These relationships form the backbone of everything we do, connecting our brand, designers, partners, and clients in meaningful ways. When you take the time to understand what makes your perspective unique and the value you bring to a specific market, it becomes easier to focus your efforts and find opportunities that truly resonate. Honest conversations with clients and prospects about who you are and what you do often lead to surprising connections and shared goals.

B2 has built a reputation on great design, thoughtful service, and a commitment to doing what’s right, and that trust leads to exciting opportunities. When clients recognize that alignment, they know they can rely on us to adapt, solve problems, and bring new ideas to the table.

For example, one client asked us to design an amenity space in an office building that felt more like a hospitality environment. It was a bit of a leap for us—we don’t typically work on office projects—but they trusted our experience with hospitality and multifamily spaces. That trust gave us the freedom to experiment and create something bold and completely new, and it helped our team gain valuable experience in the process.

Another example is our partnership with Matthews Southwest on a guestroom renovation for the Canvas Hotel Dallas. By teaming up with a local furniture manufacturer, Scout Design Studio, we tried something completely different: a real-time design-build approach. It cut costs, eliminated unnecessary steps, shortened the timeline by months, and allowed us to install the rooms in phases to minimize disruption for hotel guests. And we achieved all of this without sacrificing the design quality or craftsmanship our clients expect.

Success comes down to working with people who share your values. From the contractors and vendors to the materials and methods, everyone needs to be on the same page and invested in the project’s outcomes. That shared commitment makes all the difference.
