New Video Competition Aims to Showcase Value of NCIDQ Certificates

Sept. 22, 2011

WASHINGTON—The National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) has just announced a video competition for active certificate holders. Entrants can win an iPad just for creating a video that tells viewers the value of a NCIDQ certificate. NCIDQ will then showcase the best videos for students, emerging professionals and the public to see.

“We decided to let our certificate holders get as creative as they wanted to with this promotion,” explains Executive Director Jeffrey F. Kenney. “They can use voiceovers, animations, clients, personal experiences or whatever they think tells the best story of how their NCIDQ certificate provides value. We hope that by having professionals tell the story, it will create a greater impact that will build up the profession.”

Any active certificate holder in the United States or Canada can enter the contest. Participants must upload a 60-second video to YouTube and send NCIDQ an entry form no later than Oct. 25, 2011. There are no fees to enter, but each Certificate holder may enter only one video.

The NCIDQ Board of Directors will select a winner in early November. The first-place winner will receive a 16 GB iPad, as well as a year of free certificate renewal and a free continuing education monograph. Up to three honorable mentions will also be awarded.

Complete competition rules, entry forms and terms and conditions are on the NCIDQ website.
