MEMPHIS, TN - Hnedak Bobo Group (HBG) announced that it is offsetting its carbon emissions with Carbonfund.org, one of the country's leading carbon reduction and offset organizations.
Carbonfund.org makes it easy and affordable for individuals, businesses and organizations to reduce their impact on the Earth's climate. By investing in renewable energy, energy efficiency and reforestation projects, the carbon dioxide emissions we are responsible for are reduced.
HBG has achieved a net-zero impact on global warming by offsetting its facility energy use, employee air travel emissions, and employee commute emissions. This worldwide issue has affected HBG's philosophy on environmentally responsible design, and has been a catalyst for change in the firm's design and business practices.
"We, as architects, must become positive, action-oriented participants in green design by understanding, educating, integrating and practicing the concepts of sustainable design as it pertains to our projects and daily lives," states Greg Hnedak, FAIA, co-founder/partner and principal of Hnedak Bobo Group. "Carbonfund.org has provided us with a means to invest in renewable energy and reforestation while promoting energy reduction and sustainable building design."
HBG joins other environmentally conscious corporate and nonprofit partners such as Discovery, Volkswagen, Dell, Orbitz, Environmental Defense, and Lancome in Carbonfund.org's worthwhile cause.
