In 2006, CF Stinson engaged Roop to work as a consultant in collaboration with CF Stinson’s design team to develop and implement a new design direction for the company. Several CF Stinson collections based on Roop’s artwork have won prestigious design awards, including Best of NeoCon and the Healthcare Design Nightingale Award.
“We believe that Lori is one of the brightest and most talented young textile designers in the contract fabric industry today,” says Keith Stinson, president of CF Stinson. “Her ability to successfully combine craftsmanship, technology and art brings a fresh perspective to textile design, and we’re confident that our product development efforts will flourish under her leadership.”
Roop has more than 20 years of experience as a textile designer and colorist. As a student, Roop won the American Fibers design competition for innovative design while earning her degree in textile design from the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design. She began her textile design career working for KnollTextiles in New York before advancing to assistant design director at Pollack. In 2004, Roop established her own textile consulting firm, ROOPdesign.
“By creating the director of design position, CF Stinson is reinforcing the company’s commitment to lead with design while continuing to set the industry standard for technical innovation and customer service. I am thrilled to be part of the CF Stinson team,” says Roop.
