Valdese Weavers President and CEO Michael Shelton has announced the promotion of three associates at the company’s Burke County, North Carolina headquarters.
“Janet, Joel, and Katie have shown great leadership in their work at Valdese Weavers,” said Shelton. “Their enthusiasm for the company and their ability to affect strategic decisions makes them role models for their colleagues.”
Janet Kuck
Janet Kuck has been promoted to senior vice president of information systems for Valdese Weavers. She is a long-time officer of the company and a member of the executive staff. Her 27-year tenure has given her exceptional knowledge of the company, its history, and culture.
Kuck is responsible for maintenance and improvement of all computer related information systems and technology at Valdese Weavers. She leads a team of experts in hardware, software development, and SAP knowledge.
Kuck began with the company in 1987 as controller before moving to the information systems department. In 2000, she was named vice president of information systems. She is a native of North Carolina, and currently resides in Granite Falls. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a certified public accountant.
Joel Crisp
Joel R. Crisp moves into the position of senior vice president of global operations. He is responsible for the Valdese International Products brand where he oversees the Valdese Weavers sourced fabric stocking program for distribution to the company’s domestic and international customers. He also manages the logistics and development of products for customers who use cut-and-sew capabilities abroad.
Crisp, a 30-year veteran of the textile industry, came to Valdese Weavers in May 2005 after serving as the vice president of global sourcing with the Robert Allen Group. He received his bachelor’s in business from the University of South Carolina.
Katie Pritchard
Katie Pritchard takes on the role of vice president, controller, reporting to CFO Snyder Garrison.
She is responsible for all of the accounting and financial operations at the company. Pritchard joined Valdese Weavers in 2011 as financial controller.
Prior to her work with Valdese, Pritchard spent 16 years at Corning Cable Systems in several positions including internal auditor and engineering services controller. She began her career as a public accountant with the top 10 U.S. firm McGladrey & Pullen.
Pritchard graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She is a certified public accountant and a certified management accountant.
