The main focus during NeoCon 50 is inside the Merchandise Mart, but if one simply ventured just a few steps across the street they'll find even more show-related people, products, and good stories. Kimball, for example, has designed a large two-floor showroom that emulates the company’s culture of caring, including their support of makers in the industry and startup companies.

The showroom features a maker station located in the design hub, where attendees can create custom, hand-stamped dog tag necklaces or pick from Kimball's pre-made options. Lines were long as attendees used hammers to pound letters and symbols into their personalized creations. For every dog-tag, Kimball donates $1 to K9S 4 Dog tags, an Indiana nonprofit organization that pairs soldiers with PTSD and Shelter Dogs Together.
