This July, interior designers representing 46 out of 48 chapters met in Boston for the American Society of Interior Designers’ (ASID) 2015 Chapter Leadership Conference. The diverse group of more than 300 ASID chapter leaders attended the three-day conference, engaging in training, idea sharing, and networking, as well as celebrated the organization’s 40th anniversary.
“The result,” said Randy Fiser, ASID CEO, “[is] one of the strongest and most well-attended Chapter Leadership Conference events in the 40-year history of ASID.”
“This conference highlighted one of the great strengths of ASID,” said DJ Johnson, ASID, director, chapter program development. “It brought a diverse group of designers and industry partners together from across the country to share their passion and vision for how we make ASID and its 48 chapters stronger.”
The event culminated in The State of Society address Saturday afternoon, followed by the awards gala and annual auction, which raised just over $57,000. During The State of Society presentation, Fiser commented, “Design is no longer an afterthought. It has become a vital tool for addressing fundamental social issues in healthcare, education, sustainability and conservation, safety, resiliency, and equal access.” A video on the topic entitled 2015 ASID Impact of Design can be found on their YouTube page.
