Since 2006, SAC Federal Credit Union, Nebraska’s largest, has grown from $294 million in assets to over $575 million. Its rapid growth, spurred by an aggressive strategic vision, meant that a new headquarters was badly needed.

Designed by international A&D firm LEO A DALY, the new campus, located in Papillion, Neb., creates a collaborative, energetic and forward-thinking environment for employees, while also reflecting its unique standing as a leader in the business community.

The building will rest on a brick foundation, a metaphorical representation of SAC’s member-owner base. At the heart of the space will be the “communication core,” a four-story atrium with a large, wooden staircase to which all departments and offices will open. The upper three levels of the building, which are made of glass and aluminum metal panels, cantilever 30 feet on one side, providing a canopy for the drive-through while also making a strong gesture towards the community.

A rooftop patio and green space and a 4th floor balcony with an overhead lattice system provide employees an opportunity to enjoy panoramic views of the area. The corridor on the northern façade provides breakout work spaces with large windows to facilitate creative collaboration and flexible group work.

“SAC Federal Credit Union’s new corporate headquarters will offer a much more open and collaborative work environment, made up of a mixture of workstations and offices,” says Dale Bowder, senior project manager with LEO A DALY. “The encouragement of informal collaboration continues to become more important as more and more of the millennial generation are hired within organizations.”

The flagship building is expected to be completed in spring 2014. For more information, visit www.leoadaly.com.
