Oct. 24, 2014

Award-winning architecture and interior design firm is now Woodhouse Tinucci Architects

David Woodhouse, FAIA, and Andy Tinucci, AIA, announce their professional partnership with a firm name change. David Woodhouse Architects LLC (DWA) will now be known as Woodhouse Tinucci Architects.

The change formally recognizes and cements a 13-year collaboration that has seen countless civic, institutional, commercial, and residential projects that comprise architecture, interior design, planning, and programming.Woodhouse founded David Woodhouse Architects LLC in 1990. Since then, the firm has designed award-winning spaces for clients such as the Chicago Park District, Morton Arboretum, and University of Chicago.

“Our shared approach is founded on a deep conviction that buildings matter,” Woodhouse said. “It’s what people do inside buildings that are most important.”

Tinucci joined the firm in 2002, after designing and building environmentally sensitive and award-winning architecture in the incredible landscapes of the Desert Southwest. Coming from a family of builders, engineers, and architects, he received his architectural degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the University of Arizona.

Other recent Woodhouse Tinucci projects that range from small civic to large-scale institutional buildings include the Rosewood Beach Restoration project in Highland Park; the Sailing Center at Northwestern University; the University of Chicago Booth School of Business Gleacher Center Annex project; More Cupcakes and The Eastman Egg Co. restaurant, which originated as a food truck selling handcrafted egg sandwiches; and residential buildings with clients ambitious in architectural quality.

Both Woodhouse and Tinucci also have a commitment to scholarship: Woodhouse is an adjunct professor and Tinucci is studio assistant professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology’s College of Architecture.

“This name change recognizes our partnership and the ongoing mission of our firm,” Woodhouse said. “I am proud to have Andy join me as partner as we look to the future of helping individuals and organizations invest in their physical environment in a way that positively impacts the way they live and work.”
