The Art Tile Courtyard at Coverings—the largest international tile and stone show in North America—has been a hot spot for attendees, both two- and four-legged. As part of one of the show’s charitable initiatives, the Tile Council of North America (TCNA), along with 14 of its member companies, has created one-of-a-kind doghouses that are on display and will be donated after the four-day event in Atlanta, which runs through May 11.
Using forms donated by manufacturer Wedi and TCNA, the program designs and builds custom dog houses that showcase the healthy, durable, and stylish benefits of tile products. After, the decked-out doggy homes will be donated to the Homeless Pets Foundation in Atlanta, a local organization dedicated to finding forever homes for cats and dogs whose time is running out in local animal shelters. Found at Booth #7249, the unique display even features furry end users, all of whom are available for adoption.
The charitable initiative is one of three taking place at Coverings this year. Tying in with the show’s theme of making connections, event organizers connected with local charities in an effort to give back to different corners of the Atlanta community. This included partnering with Habitat for Humanity and show organizer Freeman to donate tile and building materials from exhibitors’ booths and post-show breakdown. In addition, a collaboration with Mapei, Florida Tile, and the National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) worked with Clean the World to assemble hygiene kits for in-need veterans.
With more than 1,100 exhibitors representing 40-plus countries across 400,000 square feet of exhibition space, Coverings’ charitable drives are sure to make a positive impact that extends well beyond the 2018 show.
Attending Coverings 2018?
All attendees are encouraged to attend and see the beautifully designed, charming dog houses and to meet the hardworking volunteers and their canine companions. A donation ceremony will take place in the Art Tile Courtyard on Thursday, May 10 at 3:15 p.m., where the houses will be given to the Homeless Pets Foundation.
