Woven + Welded: 3 Versatile Looks for Wire Mesh

Nov. 28, 2018

Banker Wire’s woven and welded wire mesh is available in thousands of combinations, making it a preferred material for a variety of projects in any interior space.

As an extremely versatile material, wire mesh is in demand as it’s customizable, durable and works in a variety of functions and aesthetics, including:

  • Railings
  • Fences
  • Parking garages
  • Millwork.

With over 100 years of experience under its belt, wire mesh manufacturer Banker Wire has become a world-renown provider of woven and welded wire mesh for architectural and industrial projects. The company’s modern and productive mill in Mukwonago, WI, utilizes versatile wire looms and state-of-the-art grid welding equipment to manufacture its wire mesh in nearly any alloy, spacing and diameter configurations – creating thousands of combinations that work for any project.

1. Following a three-year renovation, Louisiana State University tapped Banker Wire to provide material for the railing infill panels on its new student recreation center. The versatile look of Banker Wire’s L-62 high-definition lock crimp that’s in place now provides a flexible, connected environment to celebrate and inspire personal wellness throughout the 250,000-square-foot facility. The crimp, which works for both restoration and new-build projects, features straight sections of wire with highly defined crimps at the points of intersection, lending itself to a smooth appearance that complements the sleek design of the recreation center while providing substantial fall protection.

2. To display its leather goods in its New York-based flagship store, The Frye Company used Banker Wire’s P-286 brass-finish wire mesh pattern. The display shelves are wrapped on three sides with the plain crimp wire mesh, which offers a unique industrial quality – acknowledging the space’s history as a century-old cast iron factory – while also providing a bright luster and glow that complement the rich colors of the store’s design and the Frye leather goods.

3. Located inside the Renaissance Atlanta Airport Gateway Hotel is the Hickory & Hazel Table & Bar, a 2,976-square-foot restaurant that seats 106 guests and who’s focal point is the “floating” liquor cabinet that’s both functional and visual. The colored bottles it holds are enhanced by the cabinet lighting and protected by Banker Wire’s antique brass plated M22-37. The decorative wire mesh is a strong and rigid twin wire weave that balances spacing and wire diameter. With a 66 percent open area, the wire mesh’s transparency allows the bottles to be seen and admired.
