Oct. 11, 2019

Design Connections 2.0 concluded with the Night of Giving in which their paintings will be auctioned off to benefit the United Way of the Desert.

Attendees of interiors+sourcesDesign Connections 2.0 capped off the one-and-a-half-day event in October with a fun and inspiring Night of Giving at the Palm Springs (CA) Art Museum. (View a slideshow of their work in action at the bottom of this article.)

Designers and sponsors were assembled into teams to paint beautiful, collaborative works of art that will be auctioned to benefit the United Way of the Desert (UWD).

The bi-annual charity event gives attendees the opportunity to participate in a creative activity together while giving of their time and talents to benefit local communities.

UWD is on a mission to break the cycle of poverty in the Coachella Valley through mobilizing the caring power of community. The nonprofit organization envisions a healthy and vibrant community, where individuals and families have access to the opportunities to reach their potential through health, education and financial stability.

Through its Community Impact Agenda, UWD works to ensure people get the support services they need immediately, while simultaneously addressing the root causes of poverty in the region.

By providing opportunities for early literacy and quality education to all children, the United Way of the Desert is setting them on the path to school success, graduation, and college or career success.

“Our Night of Giving is one of the most well-received and entertaining portions of our program at each Design Connections event,” says Steven Sloan, brand director of interiors+sources. “Designers repeatedly tell us how much they enjoy the Night of Giving activities and being able to give back to the local community. As a media brand committed to social responsibility, we will continue to help support worthy charities such as the United Way of the Desert that is addressing the critical problem of poverty in the Coachella Valley.”
